Before the seminar...

e-learning communities in New Zealand secondary schools have been in existence since the early 1990’s.  Unlike the overseas examples, i.e. USA, their growth and development has been ‘organic’ with little national coordination (Jeffares, n.d.)

As background preparation for our guest speaker, Ken Pullar e-Principal, OtagoNet, either;

  • view the following eLearning and Secondary Futures Thinking Slideshare presentation,
and /or
  • read Connected Secondary Schools – a paper prepared by the PPTA ICT taskforce

Follow-up Activity

Making connections - by now you should be reflecting on the ideas discussed in Ken's presentation and the suggested readings.  As we process the ideas and information the use of a mind map often helps with the organisation of key ideas, as well as promoting those JIT ideas that surface as the debate starts.  Using this mindmeister map please add any ideas, resources, links that come to mind as you work through this seminar,  facilitating the sharing of resources and ideas related to blended learning. This is a work in progress ..... keep adding as you work through the rest of the activities. (Password is massey & you will need register on the mindmeister site).
